Our Story

This resort was established by Ed and Dolores (Dolly) Satko because they wanted a place for their friends to stay overnight and enjoy fishing.  In the late 1930's Ed built a dance hall where live music played  and a juke box also blasted through the  evening nights.  By 1965 all of the 8 cabins had been built.  Ed and his neighbor, fellow resort owner, sawed the lumber together with their own sawmill.   All but two cabins were built using this local wood.  Their hard work and special touches were felt throughout the resort by their friends.  Dolly would cook, bake and Ed would bring fisherman to some local lakes on his tractor.  Evening fishing and visiting with friends is what kept this small resort going.  Ed and Dolly treated their guests as if they were family.
